A New Cattitude was founded by me, Jocie (aka Cat Nurse Jocie), a passionate feline enthusiast with over 18 years of experience as a Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT). I’ve worked in both small animal clinics and shelter medicine, giving me a well-rounded understanding of feline health and behaviour. In addition to my formal veterinary training, I’ve completed 400+ hours of cat-specific behavior training and continuously take courses and read the latest research to stay on top of feline behavior techniques.
With my deep understanding of cats’ needs, I offer virtual consultations to help manage behavior issues and improve overall well-being. My mission is to help cats and their owners live harmoniously by providing personalized solutions based on each cat’s unique needs and behaviours.
At home, I live with my husband and six cats, all of whom constantly teach me new things about feline behaviour and help me fine-tune my training techniques and conflict resolution strategies.
Cattitude Crew
Born in June 2009, Wade was found at approx 7 weeks old with a broken leg and multiple wounds. Being an RVT, I took him in, got him the surgery he needed, and nursed him back to health. From that moment on, he decided the world was full of friends he hadn’t met yet.
Wade has grown into an overly friendly, deeply loving boy who is perfectly happy to snuggle absolutely anyone willing to pick him up. Consent is optional in his mind.
Health-wise, we’ve navigated arthritis (from his injuries), along with asthma and chronic pancreatitis, but overall he has done remarkably well.
He’s resilient, gentle, and endlessly sweet.
Born in May of 2011, Pfynn is the quiet soul of the Cattitude crew. He prefers the company of his fellow cats over most people, however, he takes a bit to warm up to new kitties.
Health-wise, aside from asthma, he’s done well for most of his life. Over the last few months though, he’s been dealing with some stubborn intestinal issues that haven’t responded to medication and have caused significant weight loss. It’s hard to see him so thin, but his spirit hasn’t faded one bit.
He’s still a happy boy who expects his morning pets without fail and will come running the second a hairbrush appears. Gentle, sweet, and quietly wonderful… that’s Pfynn
Born in June 2011, Uni (aka Todd) proudly holds the titles of medical and behavioral problem child of the family. From the very beginning, he struggled with separation issues, which led him to suckle on other cats and even himself, sometimes to the point of causing wounds. He’s also known for launching himself onto people without warning just to be closer… followed by some not-so-gentle love bites.
In 2020, we nearly lost him when kidney stones blocked both ureters, requiring emergency surgery. Since then, he’s lived with chronic kidney disease and has passed many more stones, yet somehow none of it has dulled his spirit or oversized personality.
Medication time used to be a full-blown ordeal. Even a squirt of water would make him foam dramatically. These days, with some training, he takes multiple medications every day like a total champ.
He's quirky, intense, and impossible not to love.
Born in June 2011, Ramsay is the answer to a very important question: Where is the best place to sleep?
Ask any of the other cats and they’ll all say the same thing… on Ramsay.
This squishmallow lap cat has been by my side through every behavior course, assignment, and crochet project. He’s perfectly content to sit back, keep warm, and supervise absolutely everything I do. Management is his calling.
Health-wise, his teeth have always been a challenge, which is why he’s down to just one. It gives him some extra-cute facial expressions, so we’ll call that a win. He also has hyperthyroidism, arthritis, and early cognitive dysfunction, but all of it is being managed well, with plenty of comfort and care.
Soft and steady, Ramsay is the heart of the cuddle puddle.
Born in September of 2022, Kuchi Kopi is named after the Bob’s Burgers character… the adorable yet slightly evil nightlight. A fitting name, as it turns out.
When we found her at around 4 weeks old, she arrived with some serious Cattitude. She hissed and spat whenever we came close, earning herself the nickname Hissy Spits. But this girl is smart. With lots of training, patience, and positive reinforcement, she’s grown into a loving, playful member of the family. New people still make her a bit uneasy, but she’s learning at her own pace.
Fun fact: the cat in the A New Cattitude logo was designed to look just like her. Logo model and glow-up queen all in one
Born in June of 2025, Goffree is the baby of the Cattitude crew - though by 7 months old, he was already the biggest.
A social butterfly, he loves running up to meet and greet everyone: people, cats, dogs, rabbits.
He works part-time as a vet clinic cat, where he takes his getting duties very seriously, along with supervising and judging… when he’s not napping in the sink.
As a kitten, he was a very bitey boy. With training and maturity, he has evolved into a refined gentleman with excellent manners…most of the time.
September 2006 – February 2022
Bloo is the OG of the Cattitude crew. Though she’s no longer with us, she taught us a lot and mostly through snacks.
Her legendary love of food, especially Cool Whip, forced us to get very creative with counter-surfing prevention. The upside? That same food motivation made training surprisingly easy.
She had several health challenges, mainly severe intestinal issues that required long-term steroids. They helped her gut but earned her an unwanted side quest: diabetes. Bloo, being Bloo, handled insulin injections like a total champ. Once she figured out that a poke was followed by a treat, she’d come running for her “Bloo-cose” curves, enthusiasm fully intact.
Snack queen. Teacher. Always part of the crew.
I reached out to nurse jocie when I adopted a feral little boy, so he had never know human love or touch and my other adopted baby didn't except him. With jocies help and guidance Arlo is an affectation purr machine!! From not even allowing eye contact to loving snuggles and pets like no tomorrow. We've made huge progress with Integrating the cats and I have huge faith it will work out. Jocie is very approachable, knowledgeable and has been an absolutely God send. Highly recommend to anyone who is in need!
